Construction Scrap Metal Singapore
Site collection, scheduled bins, and end-of-project clearance for Singapore construction contractors.
Construction sites across Singapore generate some of the highest scrap volumes of any sector — rebar offcuts, aluminium window frame waste, copper cabling drums, HMS from structural steel rework, and stainless fittings from M&E fit-out. Molten Steel collects all of it. We deploy bins on-site, handle same-day pickup on call, and issue disposal documentation suitable for your BCA waste management plan submissions.
What We Collect from Construction Sites
Construction scrap is mixed-grade by default. We accept and sort it on our end. Typical streams we pull from a live site include:
- Rebar & structural steel offcuts — graded as HMS (heavy melting steel) scrap
- Aluminium window, door, and curtain wall frames — see aluminium scrap
- Copper cable ends, bus bars, and HVAC copper — see copper scrap
- Stainless steel handrails, balustrades, fittings — see stainless steel scrap
- Brass plumbing fittings, valves, taps — see brass scrap
- Galvanised steel ducting, cable trays, and conduit
- Tin/zinc-plated hardware, sheet metal offcuts, steel strapping
Not sure what a load is worth? We quote on-site or against a photo. Reference rates live on our current scrap metal prices page.
How Our Construction Scrap Service Works
- Site walk or photo quote — we assess volume, metal mix, and access. Quote returned within a few hours.
- Bin deployment or direct pickup — for active sites we drop 240L, 660L, 1,100L bins, or roll-on/off containers. For one-off clearances we bring a truck and crew.
- Segregated sorting on-site where needed — cable, non-ferrous, and ferrous bins kept separate to maximise load value.
- Weighbridge and grade receipt — every pickup produces a weigh ticket and grade breakdown for your records.
- Payment or account credit — same-day for spot loads, monthly consolidated for contract sites.
Scheduled Pickup vs. One-Off Clearance
Most of our construction clients split their scrap workflow into two types of job, and we price each differently.
Scheduled pickup (active sites)
Long-duration projects — MRT stations, BTO blocks, commercial towers, condo developments — generate scrap weekly. We set up scheduled bin exchange with a fixed rotation, invoice monthly, and credit scrap value against the service fee. Net-positive loads get paid out on the monthly cycle.
One-off clearance (decommissioning, end-of-project)
When a project is wrapping or a site is being demobilised, we quote a fixed-price clearance including labour, transport, and a scrap buyback against the clearance invoice. Where structural demolition is involved we coordinate directly with a licensed demolition company or run the demolition ourselves where the commercial case fits.
Compliance & Documentation
Construction in Singapore is one of the most documentation-heavy sectors we serve. Every pickup generates a full paper trail you can hand to your client, QS, or environmental officer.
- NEA-licensed scrap metal dealer — see our licensing and credentials page for full credentials
- Weigh tickets, grade receipts, and disposal certificates on request
- Disposal documentation suitable for clients’ BCA Green Mark and waste management plan submissions
- MOM-compliant lifting and rigging where we handle heavy pickups on site
- ISO 14001 chain-of-custody records available for main contractors who require them
Who Works With Us
Our construction desk handles scrap for main contractors, subcontractors, and specialist trades across Singapore. Current and past clients include main contractors on HDB BTO packages, MRT station civil contractors in the Jurong and Cross Island line zones, commercial tower fit-out contractors in the CBD, condominium developers in the East, and M&E subcontractors working across industrial and commercial developments.
If you want a single scrap partner across a portfolio of sites — islandwide pickup, consolidated invoicing, one point of contact — that’s exactly what our industrial scrap metal services arm is set up for. metal scrap collection and scrap metal recycling for the base service specs.
Grade Separation on a Busy Site
The difference between a high-value scrap load and a low-value one on a construction site is usually grade separation. A mixed bin of rebar, aluminium frame offcuts, and copper cable scraps together gets priced down as mixed ferrous — even though the copper and aluminium alone are worth many multiples per kilogram. We address this in two ways. First, we supply colour-coded, labelled bins on site — ferrous, non-ferrous, cable — and brief the gang leaders on what goes where. Second, our drivers re-sort at tailgate on collection, flagging any obvious mis-sorts back to your foreman. The result: you get paid on the actual grade mix rather than the worst-graded bin.
Typical Project Types We Support
- HDB BTO and upgrading works — rebar offcuts from structural packages, aluminium from window installation, copper from electrical first-fix
- MRT, LTA and civils projects — heavy HMS from temporary works, formwork, steel sheet piling trimmings, and structural steel offcuts
- Commercial towers and office fit-out — copper cable, stainless handrail and balustrade offcuts, aluminium curtain wall scrap
- Industrial and data centre builds — heavy copper bus trunking, switchgear offcuts, HVAC ductwork, chilled-water pipework
- Residential and condo developments — aluminium window frames, stainless fittings, copper plumbing and electrical offcuts
- Hospital and institutional builds — specialist stainless fittings, copper medical gas piping, shielded cable
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you pick up on weekends or after hours?
Yes. Active construction sites often need scrap clearance timed around concrete pours, inspections, or handover milestones — we run Saturday collections as standard and Sunday or after-hours by arrangement. Book with at least 24 hours’ notice for non-weekday slots.
Do you buy scrap directly from subcontractors, or only from the main contractor?
Either. On larger sites the main contractor usually sets up a single scrap arrangement covering all trades. On smaller sites or where subcontractors retain their own scrap value, we invoice and pay subcontractors directly — as long as site access is cleared with the main.
What happens to the scrap after collection?
Everything goes to our Gul Circle yard for weighing, grading, and onward processing into the recycling chain. Ferrous goes to steel mills; non-ferrous is processed and exported to licensed smelters. Full chain-of-custody on request. More on our scrap metal recycling page.
For large site clearances, see our scrap metal disposal service — NEA-compliant, paid rather than charged.
