Stainless Steel Plate Supplier Singapore

Stainless Steel Plate Supplier Singapore

Recovered 304 and 316 plate — 3 mm to 12 mm+, cut-to-size on request.

Recovered Stainless Steel Plate & Heavy Sheet

Molten Steel supplies recovered stainless steel plate to fabricators, marine contractors and equipment builders who need usable plate without paying for new mill stock. Most of our inventory comes from industrial demolition, tank tear-downs, shipyard clearances and food-plant upgrades. Thicknesses range from 3 mm up to 12 mm and beyond for heavy plate. Where the original installation was documented, we’ll pass on the known grade and service history; where it wasn’t, we XRF-verify and sell by confirmed chemistry.

Plate that arrives dished, welded or with attachments is cold-cut back to flat usable sizes in our yard. Typical drop size is 1.2 × 2.4 m or 1.5 × 3.0 m; we can produce smaller cuts on request. Flatness is visually assessed before dispatch — buyers who require tight flatness tolerance for laser or waterjet feed should specify that at the quote stage so we can pre-select or press-flatten before loading.

Heavy plate above 12 mm comes through less regularly; if you need a specific thickness and size for a planned fabrication, flag it at enquiry and we’ll either pull from current stock or keep an eye out on incoming clearances.

Minimum Order & Delivery

  • MOQ: 3 tonnes mixed plate; 1 tonne for specific grade/thickness pulls
  • Packaging: stacked on hardwood skids, steel-banded; typically 2–3 tonnes per skid
  • Cutting: oxy-cut or cold-sheared to customer sizes for a handling fee
  • Local delivery: crane-off or forklift-off across Singapore; 3–5 working days
  • Export: containerised to regional ports; FOB Singapore or CFR terms

Pricing

Recovered plate typically runs 45–65% of new mill plate prices depending on grade, yield after cutting, and surface condition. Underlying nickel exposure is benchmarked to the LME; our LME scrap guide explains the pricing mechanics and Singapore scrap prices shows current reference rates.

For repeat buyers we can hold specific thickness/grade bands under a standing call-off and quote against a monthly LME average. This smooths out nickel volatility and gives the buyer a predictable monthly invoice rather than chasing the daily LME close — useful when plate is an input to a fixed-price fabrication contract.

Pricing also moves with yield: a mixed-condition lot where only 70% of the incoming weight is usable after cutting is priced very differently from a clean-drop lot where 95% converts to saleable plate. Expect to discuss yield expectations at quote stage.

Quality & Documentation

Every plate lot is XRF-verified for grade. We issue a COA per lot on request and can provide:

  • Per-bundle XRF chemistry report
  • Weighbridge ticket and itemised cut list
  • Photographs of stacked plate and seal numbers for export
  • Non-radioactive and phytosanitary declarations where required

As with all recovered material, plate is sold as usable fabrication stock rather than mill-certified new plate. Code-stamped pressure work should use traceable new material.

Who Buys From Us

Plate buyers are mostly end-use fabricators rather than traders — the economics only work when a buyer converts drops into billable fabrication work with a good yield ratio. For context on grade selection for marine and food-grade work, see our 304 vs 316 guide.

  • Marine contractors doing hull and bulkhead repair
  • Food-grade equipment builders using 304L / 316L drops for tanks and hoppers
  • Fabricators building jigs, guards, chutes and non-critical structural elements
  • Workshops running waterjet or plasma cutting services who want feedstock at scrap-plus pricing
