Copper Supplier Singapore

Graded copper scrap for smelters and fabricators — LME-benchmarked, container loads.

Graded Copper Scrap Supply from Singapore

Molten Steel supplies graded copper scrap to regional smelters and Singapore fabricators from a licensed yard in Singapore. Material is sorted to ISRI-equivalent grades — Berry/Candy, Birch/Cliff, Honey and stripped cable — and priced against the LME copper settlement. We run monthly offtake contracts with re-melters in China, India and Southeast Asia, and spot sales locally. Typical monthly throughput is 80–120 tonnes across grades, sourced through our buy-side collection network.

What We Supply

Grade (ISRI)DescriptionTypical Monthly VolumeForm
Berry / Candy (#1)Bright bare copper wire, 1.6 mm+, uncoated20–40 tonnes1-tonne bales or FIBC
Birch / Cliff (#2)Miscellaneous copper, green/tinned, >94% Cu30–60 tonnesBales or loose
Honey / CocoaCopper tube (HVAC, plumbing), clean10–25 tonnesCut lengths, baled
Insulated wire (Druid/Talon)PVC-insulated, granulation feed15–30 tonnesBales
Stripped cableMechanically stripped, high-yield10–20 tonnesBales
Tinned copperBusbar off-cuts, tinned wire5–10 tonnesBales

Every consignment is sorted by hand in the yard, XRF- or eddy-current-verified for purity, and baled to container-ready dimensions. We do not mix grades within a bale; each bale is tagged with lot number, grade and weight. Container loads typically run 18–22 tonnes per 20ft unit depending on grade density — tight bales of #2 copper will load heavier than loose tube.

For buyers with strict chemistry requirements (for example copper rod mills running tight oxygen-content specs), we’ll pre-sort against sample specs and hold material on a named-buyer reservation. That removes the risk of buying a container and finding out at the smelter that the average purity is below contract.

Minimum Order & Delivery

  • MOQ: 5 tonnes per grade for local delivery; 18–22 tonnes per 20ft container for export
  • Packaging: hydraulically pressed bales (typically 1,000–1,200 kg) or 1-tonne FIBC
  • Export: FOB Singapore or CFR to regional ports; we load 20ft containers in-yard and seal on departure
  • Local delivery: flatbed or container delivery across Singapore in 3–5 working days
  • Lead time for container loads: 7–10 days from contract confirmation to loading

Pricing

Copper is priced as a percentage of the LME copper settlement. Typical recovery factors:

  • Berry/Candy (#1): 96–98% of LME
  • Birch/Cliff (#2): 92–95% of LME
  • Honey (copper tube): 93–96% of LME
  • Insulated wire: priced on recoverable copper content (60–75% of weight) times LME

Contracts above 25 tonnes can be fixed on an LME-month-average basis. Spot lots use the daily LME close. For the pricing mechanics see our LME scrap pricing guide or the Singapore scrap prices page for current reference.

Quality & Documentation

Every copper lot is sorted, weighed on SAC-accredited scales and verified for purity. On every shipment we provide:

  • Weighbridge ticket and bale-by-bale weight list
  • XRF or eddy-current purity report
  • Photographs of bales and container loading with seal numbers
  • COA on request
  • Export pack: packing list, commercial invoice, non-radioactive declaration, phytosanitary where required

Molten Steel operates under Singapore scrap dealer licensing — see our licensing & credentials page. The yard and trading desk are run by a team with multi-decade experience in regional non-ferrous trade; see our team.

Who Buys From Us

Copper is the most actively traded non-ferrous metal globally and buyer profiles differ sharply by grade. High-grade Berry/Candy goes mostly to rod mills and bright-wire recyclers that run tight chemistry. #2 copper and tube go to general smelters. Insulated wire goes to granulation plants where the economics depend on PVC stripping yield.

  • Copper re-melters and rod mills in China, India and Vietnam taking monthly container loads
  • Singapore and Johor electrical fabricators buying busbar and bright wire for in-house melt
  • Granulation plants taking insulated wire and low-grade mixed copper
  • Traders consolidating mixed non-ferrous for onward sale

Related Services

We supply copper alongside aluminium scrap and stainless steel — buyers often consolidate mixed non-ferrous containers to save on per-tonne freight. On the buy-side we collect copper across Singapore via our copper scrap collection service, which is the source of most of this supply. For the wider context see our non-ferrous metals overview, and for industrial-scale clearances see our industrial scrap metal services.
