Manufacturing Scrap Metal Singapore
Scheduled bin exchange, disposal documentation suitable for ISO 14001 reporting, and end-of-line equipment buyback for Singapore factories.
Singapore manufacturing — precision machining shops, metal stamping plants, semiconductor equipment makers, aerospace tier suppliers — generates high-value, graded scrap in steady weekly volumes. Turnings, offcuts, press waste, and end-of-line equipment all carry real market value when segregated properly. Molten Steel sets up scheduled bin exchange for factories across Jurong, Tuas, Woodlands, and Changi, with disposal documentation suitable for clients’ ISO 14001 environmental reporting on every pickup.
What We Collect from Manufacturing Plants
Factory scrap is typically cleaner and better graded than construction or demolition waste, which translates to better rates. We handle all of the following:
- Machining turnings and chips — aluminium, steel, stainless steel scrap — kept segregated for premium grading
- Press and stamping offcuts — sheet steel, aluminium scrap, galvanised
- copper scrap — busbar offcuts, wire, transformer windings, end-of-line reels
- brass scrap and bronze — CNC turnings, valve offcuts, fittings
- End-of-line production equipment, jigs, fixtures, and tooling
- Decommissioned machinery — CNCs, presses, compressors, conveyors
- Obsolete inventory, rejected parts, WIP scrap
Grade separation is where most factories leave money on the table. We supply labelled bins — ferrous, non-ferrous, cable, turnings — and train your floor staff on sorting at drop-off. Reference rates on our current scrap metal prices page.
How Our Manufacturing Scrap Service Works
- Walk-through and scope — we visit the plant, map scrap streams by line or cell, and size the bins.
- Bin deployment with labels — 240L, 660L, 1,100L, or roll-on/off per stream. Sealed containers available for turnings and oily swarf.
- Scheduled exchange — weekly, fortnightly, or triggered by fill-level. Swap-out typically takes 30–45 minutes.
- Weighbridge, grading, and ISO documentation — every pickup recorded with weight, grade, date, and driver. Records go straight into your ISO 14001 environmental file.
- Monthly consolidated settlement — one invoice/credit note per site, with itemised scrap value against service fees.
Scheduled Pickup vs. One-Off Clearance
Scheduled bin exchange (steady-state production)
For plants producing scrap weekly we run a scheduled rotation. You tell us fill rate, we tell you the bin size and swap frequency that keeps the floor clear without overpaying for transport. Settlement is monthly; most plants with decent non-ferrous content run net-positive and get paid.
One-off clearance (line decommissioning, plant closure, relocation)
Line moves, plant closures, and equipment refresh cycles throw off large one-shot volumes. We quote a fixed price covering dismantling, segregation, transport, and buyback — often closing out the job as a net credit to you. See our industrial scrap metal services page for end-of-life factory handling.
Compliance & Documentation
Most of our manufacturing clients are ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or OHSAS/ISO 45001 certified. We issue documentation that feeds directly into those systems.
- NEA-licensed scrap metal dealer (details on our licensing and credentials page)
- Chain-of-custody documentation suitable for clients’ ISO 14001 reporting: weigh tickets, grade breakdowns, disposal certificates per pickup
- Monthly environmental reports — tonnage by grade, recycling rate, recovery destination
- Data destruction partner referrals for scrap with embedded storage (controllers, drives, PCBs)
- Hazardous-adjacent material handling (oil-wet turnings, coolant-laden swarf) per NEA guidelines
Who Works With Us
Our manufacturing clients span precision machining shops in Jurong and Tuas, semiconductor equipment fabricators, aerospace tier-2 suppliers, medical device makers in Tuas Biomedical, metal stamping plants, sheet metal fabricators, and contract manufacturers serving MNC customers. If your plant is running an annual scrap tender or benchmarking against another dealer, we’ll quote against it — transparent grades, weighbridge receipts, LME-linked pricing. Start with our scrap metal recycling and metal scrap collection service pages.
Why Turnings Segregation Matters
Machining turnings — the swarf from CNC lathes, mills, and screw machines — look similar across metals but price very differently. Aluminium turnings, stainless turnings, and mild steel turnings each need their own bin. Mixed turnings get downgraded to the lowest-value grade in the mix, which can cut recovery by 40% or more on a load that would otherwise be majority aluminium or stainless. We supply dedicated, labelled turnings drums per machine cell, and brief operators on which bin takes what. For oily or coolant-wet swarf we supply sealed containers with drain grates to separate residual fluid — that swarf still gets accepted, it just needs the right handling.
Typical Plant Types We Support
- Precision machining and CNC shops — aluminium, stainless, and steel turnings; offcuts; tooling
- Semiconductor equipment and precision parts — aluminium and stainless chassis waste, end-of-line equipment
- Aerospace tier-2 and MRO — specialty alloys, titanium offcuts (by quotation), aluminium skin waste
- Metal stamping and sheet metal fabrication — high-volume ferrous and aluminium offcuts, press drop
- Medical device manufacturers — stainless steel offcuts, cleanroom equipment at end-of-life
- Contract electronics manufacturers — aluminium chassis waste, copper scrap, end-of-line PCBA (through partner)
- Food and beverage manufacturing — stainless process equipment, aluminium cans and packaging waste
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you handle oily or coolant-wet swarf?
Yes — we supply sealed drums with drain grates so residual coolant or cutting oil separates out before the turnings are weighed. The free fluid is captured and disposed of through a licensed waste-oil partner. Turnings themselves are still accepted as scrap, priced against the relevant grade.
How do you handle end-of-line equipment with embedded controllers or drives?
For equipment with embedded storage — PLCs with firmware, industrial PCs, drives with configuration data — we offer data destruction via a licensed partner before the unit is scrapped. Certificates of destruction issued per asset. Flag affected units in the initial scope so we can quote the data-destruction step.
Do you quote against LME pricing?
Yes. All non-ferrous grades are priced against LME settlement with a published discount matrix we share on onboarding. Monthly statements show LME reference and the applied rate so your procurement team can reconcile. Live reference rates on current scrap metal prices.
Factory closures and line decommissions — see our factory scrap metal disposal service for scheduled or one-off clearance.
